HDR

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. It is a technology used in photography and video that captures a wider range of brightness levels and colors than standard imaging.

HDR works by capturing multiple images of the same scene at different exposure levels, and then combining them into a single image or video that contains a wider range of detail in both the highlights and shadows. This results in images that are more true-to-life and more visually appealing, with richer colors, more detail in the shadows, and less blown-out highlights.

HDR technology has become increasingly popular in recent years, and is now commonly found in smartphones, digital cameras, and televisions. It is often used in situations where the lighting is challenging, such as when shooting a sunset or a scene with strong backlighting. There are several HDR formats, including HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), which differ in terms of their technical specifications and compatibility with different devices.
