EVDO

EVDO (Evolution-Data Optimized) is a high-speed wireless data standard used to provide internet access and other data services over cellular networks. It is one of the several 3G (third-generation) cellular network technologies used around the world.

EVDO is based on CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) technology and provides faster data transfer rates than earlier CDMA-based 3G technologies. There are two main versions of EVDO: Rev. A and Rev. B. Rev. A offers data transfer rates of up to 3.1 Mbps (megabits per second) on the downlink and up to 1.8 Mbps on the uplink, while Rev. B offers data transfer rates of up to 14.7 Mbps on the downlink and up to 5.4 Mbps on the uplink.

EVDO is widely used by mobile network operators in the United States and some other countries, particularly for providing wireless internet access to laptops and other devices. It has been largely replaced by 4G LTE and other newer technologies for high-speed data transfer on cellular networks.
